Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Rotating Equipment Specialist to provide technical leadership for rotating equipment across customer operations. You will develop maintenance and replacement strategies to maximize reliability and lifecycle cost efficiency, collaborating with Condition Monitoring and field teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years with rotating equipment in gas compression or power generation, extensive knowledge of Caterpillar engines, and strong troubleshooting and data-interpretation

Qualifications

• Rotating equipment expertise with 8+ years in gas compression or power generation.
• Red Seal Journeyperson certification in Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright.
• Strong knowledge of Caterpillar engines and major OEMs.
• Experience with gas turbines, compressors, generators, pumps, turbo-expanders, and power systems equipment.
• Proficient in troubleshooting, root-cause failure analysis and reliability improvements.
• Ability to interpret equipment performance data and translate insights into recommendations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and support for rotating equipment across customer operations
• Develop maintenance, repair, and component replacement strategies to optimize reliability and lifecycle costs
• Partner with Condition Monitoring teams to validate insights and identify performance improvement opportunities
• Support field teams and supervisors with troubleshooting, repair oversight, and technical guidance
• Serve as the subject matter expert on rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, turbines, expanders, fans, and gearboxes
• Collaborate with sales teams to support CVA growth, customer presentations, and contract development
• Analyze equipment health data and identify opportunities for predictive maintenance and digital solutions
• Build long-term customer relationships focused on reliability, availability, and operational excellence
