Job Description
The Rotating Equipment Inspectors will be assigned to a variety of projects and will be required to do QA inspections during the fabrication of different equipment at vendor shops based on the inspection and test plan provided by the client. The Rotating Equipment Inspectors will ensure the quality and compliance of the mechanical systems as per the scope of the project.

The Inspectors will check mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies for proper alignment and functioning. The scope of inspection includes but is not limited to visual welding inspection, dimensional inspection, test witness, documentation review, and issuing surveillance reports and NCR (if applicable).

The Rotating Equipment Inspectors will be set up as contractors and be contacted when work is available.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of shop inspection experience on rotating equipment i.e. Centrifugal/Screw/Reciprocating Pumps & Compressors, Gas & Steam Turbines and Generators, Engines, etc.
  • Certified CWB level 2 & API 510 as minimum
  • API SIRE (Source Inspector Rotating Equipment) certification is preferable
  • Work knowledge & familiarity with API 610, 617, 618, 677
  • Work knowledge of ASME section II, V, VIII, IX as well as ASTM A703
  • Shop Inspection experience of witnessing Testing (Hydrotest, Factory Acceptance Test, Function/performance test, etc.), Visual inspection, dimensional checks, final inspections, pre-shipment inspection including shipping prep.
  • Familiarity with welding processes and welding defects, Metallurgy issues associated with manufacturing and fabrication processes.
  • Surface Preparation/Coatings Inspections (Visual)
  • The ideal candidates will have inspection experience in the Oil & Gas industry and with Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Piping Spools, Pipes and Valves.
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Candidates must be proficient in using several types of computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Pay range is $55 to $60/hour depending on experience.
  • Location - Can be all over Greater Vancouver, Lower Mainland and other parts of BC
  • Work schedule: Ad hoc – as required by the client. This is not a full-time position. We would call you when work is required.
