Job summary

Graphic Packaging International, LLC is seeking a Press Operator Assistant for our Cobourg, ON facility. The role supports setup, operation, and quality checks on Rotary Die cutting lines with emphasis on efficiency and safety.

You will assist the Press Operator, monitor carton quality, perform make-ready tasks, and help maintain production schedules. The position requires basic computer skills, color discrimination, and high school diploma, with physical shifts in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Folding carton experience on Rotary Die equipment is strongly preferred.
• Basic computer skills and data entry experience.
• Visual color discrimination and ability to match colors are important.

Responsibilities

• Set up die cut sections of die cutters according to setup techniques.
• Set up skews and delivery table per setup procedures.
• Make adjustments and troubleshoot during runs.
• Perform make ready on register for speed and quality.
• Ensure dies are secured and inspect dies before/after runs.
• Monitor carton quality for warp, size, and print accuracy.
• Maximize equipment utilization and operating speed.
• Assist Press Operator with machine duties and catching finished cartons.
• Cross-train on other press equipment and switch duties as needed.
• Complete reports (Production, Line Clearance, Safety Checks) accurately.
