Job summary

Jardeg is recruiting Welder Journeypersons Rope Access Technicians to join the Heartland Constructors team at the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort MacKay, Alberta. This outage event runs Aug 12–Aug 20 with 12‑hour shifts (day and night) on a 24/4 rotation, with camp accommodations provided at Wapasu and flights from Calgary/Edmonton.

Proficiency in rope access and welding, plus relevant tickets, are required.

Qualifications

• IRATA Levels 1–3 Certification required.
• Journeyperson Certificate of Completion in Welding Trade required.
• B-Pressure Ticket required.
• Energy Safety Canada CSO required.
• Energy Safety Canada Confined Space required.
• Energy Safety Canada Wood Buffalo/Wildlife awareness required.
• Basic Rigging training (In Person).
• Overhead Crane training (In Person).
• First Aid Level A or C required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Satisfactory Drug and Alcohol Test.
• Mask Fit Test.
• Other tickets may be required depending on scope.

Responsibilities

• Weld up to 30 inches (FDI) per day when material is available.
• Proficiency in rope access techniques and equipment.
• Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on structures and equipment at heights using rope access techniques.
• Conduct rigging and rope systems for safe access and egress.
• Utilize hand and power tools and heavy equipment to complete tasks.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Support additional rope access tasks as needed.

Jardeg is recruiting Welder Journeypersons Rope Access Technicians to join the Heartland Constructors team at the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort MacKay, Alberta. This is an Outage event, starting on Aug 12th going until Aug 20th, shifts are 12 hours, both day and night on a 24/4 rotation. Charter flights are provided from Calgary or Edmonton to site. While working on-site, workers will be staying at the Wapasu camp which will provide hot meals, lodging, workout facilities, Wi-Fi and much more! The positions are for our Outage starting on Aug 12th going until Aug 20th.

Responsibilities

• Weld up to 30 inches (FDI) per day when the material is available (some welds may be customized while others may be repetitive procedures to complete the work)
• Proficiency in rope access techniques and equipment
• Solid technical skills as a Rope Access Technician is ideal.
• Follow various company policies and procedures.
• Overhead Crane Ticket and experience is considered an asset
• Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on structures and equipment at heights using rope access techniques.
• Conduct rigging and rope systems for safe access and egress
• Utilize hand tools, power tools and heavy equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Proficiency in rope access techniques and equipment
• Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairs
• Solid technical skills as a Rope Access Technician is ideal.

Minimum Requirements

• IRATA Level 1, 2 or 3 Certification is required.
• Journeyperson Certificate of Completion in the Welding Trade
• Certified B-Pressure Ticket
• Energy Safety Canada CSO
• Energy Safety Canada Confined Space
• Energy Safety Canada Wood Buffalo / Wildlife awareness
• Basic Rigging - In Person
• Overhead Crane - In Person
• First Aid - Level A or C
• Valid Driver's License
• Satisfactory Drug and Alcohol Test
• Mask Fit Test
