Jardeg is recruiting a Millwright Apprentice to join the Heartland Constructors team at Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort MacKay, Alberta. The role supports outages from July 9 to August 16, with camp accommodations and flights provided from Calgary/Edmonton.

Primary duties include reading diagrams, rigging, fitting bearings, and aligning equipment. Candidates must have millwright qualifications and safety certifications as listed in the minimum requirements.

Qualifications

  • Millwright journeyperson certification or Interprovincial Red Seal.
  • CSO (Common Safety Orientation)
  • First Aid (Level A or C)
  • Rigging basics (in-person)
  • ESC Wood Buffalo Wildlife Orientation
  • ESC Fall Protection
  • ESC Confined Space
  • Drug & Alcohol test
  • Mask Fit Test
  • Ability to work in Canada legally

Responsibilities

  • Read diagrams, schematic drawings and service manuals to determine procedures.
  • Operate rigging equipment to place heavy machinery and parts.
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, connect motors and belts.
  • Align and test equipment and make adjustments.
  • Perform predictive and operational procedures.
  • Repair or replace defective parts.
  • Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • May perform tack welding and fabrication; maintain inventory of parts.

Jardeg is recruiting Millwright Apprentice to join the Heartland Constructors team at the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort MacKay, Alberta. Charter flights are provided from Calgary/Edmonton to site! While working on site, workers will be staying at the Wapasu camp which will provide hot meals, lodging, workout facility, Wi-Fi and much more!

Outages

This is for multiple outages from July 9th to August 16.

Millwrights install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in sites such as factories, production plants and recreational facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Read diagrams, schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures
  • Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances
  • Align and test equipment and make any necessary adjustments
  • Perform predictive and operational procedures
  • Repair or replace defective parts
  • Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • May do some tack welding and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts
Minimum Requirements
  • Millwright Journeyperson Certification and/or Interprovincial Red Seal
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Standard First Aid (Level A or C)
  • Basic Rigging (in-person course)
  • ESC Wood Buffalo Wildlife Orientation
  • ESC Fall Protection
  • ESC Confined Space
  • Satisfactory Drug & Alcohol Test
  • Mask Fit Test
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Other safety ticket(s) and orientation(s) required, as per the project team
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
