Job summary

Tacten Industrial Inc seeks a Rope Access Journeyperson Insulator to support the Suncor site in Fort McMurray, AB. The role centers on high-altitude insulation tasks with emphasis on safety and precision.

Responsibilities include installing and securing insulation materials, inspecting for wear, and collaborating with project teams to meet specifications. IRATA Level 1 certification is required or willing to obtain; CSTS/OSSA or OSSA credentials are needed as well.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Insulator or equivalent hours required.
• IRATA Level 1 Certification required, or willingness to obtain.
• CSTS/OSSA or OSSA BSO or OSSA CSO.
• CSE/M (Confined Space and Monitor and Entry).
• ESC Fall Protection an asset.

Responsibilities

• Install insulation materials, such as foam, fiberglass, or mineral wool, to prevent heat transfer, reduce energy consumption, or control sound.
• Measure and cut insulation materials to fit specific areas.
• Secure insulation in place using appropriate fasteners and adhesives.
• Regularly inspect insulation for signs of wear, damage, or degradation.
• Replace or repair insulation that has become compromised.
• Recommend and implement improvements or upgrades to enhance insulation performance.
• Consult with clients or project managers to determine insulation needs based on factors like temperature requirements, acoustic considerations, or electrical insulation needs.
• Provide recommendations on the most suitable insulation materials and techniques for different environments.
• Collaborate with construction or maintenance teams to ensure proper installation according to specifications.

Education

Tacten is seeking a Rope Access Journeyperson Insulator to support our client site Suncor in Fort McMurray, AB! As a Rope Access Insulator, you will be a key member of our team responsible for executing high-altitude tasks with precision, efficiency, and safety.

Position Details:

• Start Date: September 2026
• 14/14 rotation, 12-hour shifts
• IRATA Level 1 required, or willingness to obtain
• Fly-in-fly-out from all major hubs in Canada
• Camp provided
