Job description

SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. is seeking API certified Rope Access inspectors who are self-motivated and safety-oriented individuals to support our spring 2025 Turn Around in Northern Alberta. SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. has provided in-service pressure vessel inspections predominately to the Oil and Gas industry across western Canada since 2004, and is seeking skilled, experienced, and team-oriented candidates who value quality and integrity.

SHIFT AND LOCATION
  • Expected dates: May 08 – May 27, 2025
  • 6/1 rotation (subject to change based on the client’s needs)
  • Day shift, night shift
  • Mob in/out flights provided from main hubs (Calgary/Edmonton)
  • Camp accommodations provided
  • Travel assistance provided for out of province inspectors
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform visual inspections of pressure equipment and mining equipment
  • Perform internal and external inspections in accordance with codes, standards and procedures
  • Interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures
  • Coordinate NDE activities as outlined within the inspection test plans
  • Create detailed inspection reports
  • Report equipment maintenance/repair issues in accordance with company procedures for corrective action
  • Oversee repair, alteration and maintenance for equipment assigned and ensure related documentation is maintained
  • Responsible to adhere to all safety regulations, standards and maintain safe work practices
  • Responsible to report any unsafe work activities, hazards or concerns
  • Represents SUMMIT with external parties, regulatory bodies and clients
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid API-510, API-570, & API-653 certifications
  • IRATA Rope Access certification required
  • ABSA In-Service Pressure Vessel (IPV) certification considered an asset
  • Prior experience in Oil Sands considered an asset
  • Additional certifications such as CGSB, API, CWB considered an asset
  • Must have the following valid safety certifications prior to employment: H2S Alive, Emergency First Aid, Common Safety Orientation (CSO), Confined Space Entry and Rescue, and OSSA Fall protection
  • Elevated Work Platform certification considered an asset
  • Read and write in English
  • Basic Microsoft skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to perform physically demanding activities that may involve moving, setting up, and operating inspection equipment
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Candidates will be required to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test prior to site deployment
