Job summary

MasterBUILT Hotels seeks a Rooms Division Manager for Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Kitimat, BC. You will lead front desk, housekeeping, and related rooms divisions to achieve profitability and high guest satisfaction while providing employees an exceptional place to work.

You will implement brand guidelines, monitor yields, and drive training to elevate service levels, safety, and compliance across all shifts. A strong leader with budgeting experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ working experience in the hotel industry with progression
• 3 years’ experience in a leadership capacity
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting

Responsibilities

• Establishing and communicating objectives aligned with corporate vision
• Monitor operational efficiencies to ensure profitability within budgets
• Implement marketing initiatives aligned with hotel branding
• Maximize revenue per available room through yield management
• Provide staff with training to deliver value-added service and monitor outcomes
• Coach employees to improve customer service and response to requests
• Monitor customer satisfaction and adjust plans to improve scores
• Attract, hire and retain qualified employees who meet objectives
• Provide leadership to maintain high morale across the hotel
• Communicate daily and weekly with the General Manager
• Ensure all health and safety standards are exceeded
• Maintain month-end documentation and provide reports to accounting
• Provide cash/credit card summaries as required
• Ensure banking is completed daily

Rooms Division Manager

The Rooms Division Manager will anticipate the needs and exceed the expectations of guests as well as their employees by achieving profitability and customer service goals all while providing their employees an exceptional place to work. The Rooms Division Manager will succeed by demonstrating they have the know-how to deliver on the vision, the mission and uphold the culture of a phenomenal hotel chain.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establishing and communicating objectives that support and align with corporate’s vision by developing and implementing strategies to do so
• Monitoring operational efficiencies to ensure profitability while meeting operating and capital budgets
• Implementing marketing initiatives that align with hotel branding
• Maximizing revenue per available room through yield management
• Providing staff with skills training to provide value-added service to customers and monitor success of training
• Monitoring customer service levels and coaching employees with alternative methods of responding to customer requests
• Monitoring customer satisfaction ratings and developing plans to maintain or increase customer satisfaction as required
• Attracting, hiring and retaining qualified employees who deliver on key objectives
• Providing leadership and guidance to maintain high morale throughout the hotels
• Communicating daily and weekly with the General Manager
• Ensuring all health and safety standards are exceeded
• Maintaining all month end documentation and providing the accounting department accurate reports
• Providing cash/credit card summaries as required
• Ensuring banking is completed on a daily basis

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Required

• Minimum of 5 years’ working experience in the hotel industry, demonstrating progression with each career move
• 3 years’ experience in a leadership capacity
• Previous experience with budgeting and forecasting

Desired Education

• A High School Diploma or GED required
• A Diploma in Hospitality Management considered an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• May be required to work early morning, late evening and weekend shifts
• This position requires the ability to be flexible with hours of work to respond to urgent matters
