Courtyard and TownePlace Suites Toronto Northeast Markham is seeking a reliable Room Attendant to join our housekeeping team. The role involves cleaning and preparing guest rooms to high standards and requires weekend and holiday availability.

The pay starts at $19.48 per hour during probation and increases to $20.50 per hour after probation. This part-time position offers basic benefits and opportunities within a Marriott-affiliated hotel.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience is an asset but not required.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing carts, standing and walking for extended periods.
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service guest rooms according to hotel standards and procedures.
• Make beds, change linens, and replace towels.
• Clean bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, and mirrors.
• Vacuum carpets, mop floors, and dust furniture and fixtures.
• Replenish guest room amenities and supplies.
• Inspect rooms for cleanliness, damages, or maintenance issues and report them to the supervisor.
• Follow daily cleaning schedules and productivity standards.
• Respond to guest requests in a courteous and professional manner.
• Properly use and maintain housekeeping equipment and supplies.

Job Overview

The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and preparing guest rooms to hotel standards. This role ensures a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests by delivering high-quality housekeeping service and attention to detail.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow safe work procedures as outlined in Departmental Policy and Procedures manuals, including the use of personal protective equipment.
• Know and comply with all Occupational Health & Safety regulations, as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Ministry of Labour.
• Report all injuries or illnesses to a supervisor or manager immediately.
• Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee by bringing health and safety concerns or issues to the attention of the committee.

COMPENSATION

Pay Rate

• $19.48 per hour during probationary period. After probation, rate will change to $20.50 per hour.
