Job summary

CDÉTNO is seeking a permanent, full-time Roofer/Shingler in Yellowknife, NT. The role involves installing and replacing shingles on sloped roofs, inspecting for damage, and ensuring proper flashing and ventilation.

Ability to travel, lift up to 50 lbs, and work outdoors in all seasons is required. Applicants must have high school completion and English proficiency, with roofing experience; a trade certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous roofing or shingling experience is required.
• High school education is preferred.
• Roofing apprenticeship, trade certification, or Red Seal certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Install asphalt shingles and other roofing materials
• Remove and replace existing roofing materials
• Inspect roofs for damage, leaks, and areas requiring repair
• Install underlayment, flashing, vents, caps, and other roofing components
• Repair and replace damaged shingles and roofing materials
• Prepare roof surfaces for installation
• Measure, cut, and fit roofing materials accurately
• Use roofing tools and equipment safely and properly
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
• Work safely at heights and use ladders, scaffolding, and fall-protection equipment
• Assist with other roofing-related duties as required

Main Duties
