Tasks

• Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs
• Supervise other workers
• Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or masonry surfaces
• Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools
• Install sheet metal flashings
• Estimate costs and materials
• Operate CADD and other software systems
• Erect and install scaffolding and working platforms
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
