Job Details

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience.

Work Site Environment: At heights, noisy, dangerous, outdoors.

Work Setting: Various locations (Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Residential).

Responsibilities

Tasks

• Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles, and shakes and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings.
• Instruct apprentices.
• Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools.
• Install sheet metal flashings.
• Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms.

Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses

• Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification.
• Roofer Trade Certification.
• Working at heights training.
• First Aid Certificate.
• CPR Certificate.
• Rooftop Safety Training.
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
• Roofer Red Seal Certificate.
• Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
