Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Mining Operations Supervisor, the Rock Truck/Loader Operator will perform heavy-duty tasks on a mine site, including excavation, earthworks, and site preparation. The role involves working in rough, uneven terrain and confined spaces, with exposure to dust, noise, and weather conditions. Safety is a primary focus, as the operator works near heavy machinery and other workers, managing potential hazards associated with mining operations.

  • Transport materials (rocks, gravel, sand) to and from work sites.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections, routine maintenance, and debris clearing (tracks, in cab, under screener), electronically documented.
  • Assist with road preparation, snow removal, sanding, and watering to ensure accessibility and maintenance throughout the season.
  • Perform manual labor to clean and maintain the facility and equipment.
  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, regulations, and practices.
  • Provide feedback on working conditions and equipment use to improve efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
You Possess
  • Previous experience operating rock trucks.
  • Screener and grader experience is an asset.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing.
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Experience with computers is an asset.
  • Level 1 First Aid certification.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork in a diverse environment.
