Currently, we have an opening for a Rock Tools Technician. The Rock Tools Technician is an entry-level position responsible for supporting rock tools contracts by providing guidance on the correct usage of tools, managing and distributing products. This "no experience necessary" role is the starting point for an exciting career in the mining industry.

What you will be doing
  • Manage rock tools inventory and track all new issues, discards, and losses.
  • Repair and maintain rock tools to defined specifications.
  • Deliver rock tools products to customers.
  • Utilize the Rock Tools Management System to monitor and report on tools’ performance.
  • Troubleshoot and provide technical recommendations and improvements to the Supervisor and Sandvik Sales and Service Representatives.
  • Report occurrences indicating improper usage or selection by operators.
  • Complete accurate time records, technical reports, and failure reports.
  • Build sound relationships with the rock tools team and internal/external customers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform daily/weekly stock counts.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Environmental Health and Safety
  • Comply with safety policies and applicable regulations.
  • Identify and report unsafe work habits, workplace incidents, or near misses. Perform risk assessments (“Take Five”) before each task.
  • Maintain hand tools and equipment for safe operation.
  • Keep work area orderly and meet housekeeping standards.
  • Attend Environmental, Health, and Safety training.
  • Wear required PPE for each task.
What you will bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge or experience with industry-specific equipment (mining or construction) is a plus.
  • Previous familiarity with Sandvik products is advantageous.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and proactive.
  • Proficient with Outlook and Microsoft Office.
  • Willing to work varied shifts as required.
