About the Role

4AG Robotics is seeking an intermediate-level Robotics Systems V&V Test Engineer to join our team in Salmon Arm, BC. Reporting to the Quality and Reliability Manager, the ideal candidate will be respons ib le for su pp orting system and sub-system developments in all aspects of the testing process, from mechanical to electrical, and from concept to production. The primary goal is to ensure the quality, accuracy, and repeatability of test data to help drive data-based decisions in the development of our robots.

Responsibilities

  • Support product development and production in design, fabrication, calibration and commissioning of test equipment to ensure it is safe and fit for purpose.
  • Develop test engineering protocols for New Product Integration, Verification & Validation of the robot.
  • Create test plans of robot sub-systems as part of DVP, as defined by FMEAs and other risk engineering documentation.
  • Execute assigned tests from mechatronics and controls engineers, ensuring all procedures and safety practices are followed while delivering quality data to the internal customers in a timely manner.
  • Procure all necessary tools and materials required for fabrication of test stations, assembly, and testing processes.
  • Maintain and make available proper documentation of test equipment, results, and data in the correct locations.
  • Troubleshoot any issues with test equipment and perform preventative maintenance tasks where possible, including identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions, calibrating instruments, and ensuring proper function of the testing apparatus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience as a test engineer in a test facility or laboratory, preferably in robotics or other electro-mechanical systems.
  • Basic knowledge in instrumentation, control automation, and data acquisition systems. Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and expert level in Excel.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in test station fabrication or similar.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and basic problem-solving techniques to define and resolve problems.

The pay range for this role is:

80,000 - 95,000 CAD per year (Salmon Arm)
