Job summary

Stantec in Winnipeg is seeking an experienced Roadway Design Engineer to advance into a technical and project leadership role within our transportation Business Center.

You will manage the full lifecycle from planning through design, tendering, and construction support on provincial highways, municipal roadways, and bridges across Manitoba. Mentoring junior staff and coordinating with clients are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years of transportation design experience, preferably in a Canadian consulting environment.
• P.Eng. registration with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (or eligibility to register).
• Strong working knowledge of roadway/highway design standards (MTI, TAC, AASHTO).
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley OpenRoads Designer is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or support design of provincial highways, municipal roadways, rural roads, and bridge-approach works from planning through detailed design and construction support.
• Develop horizontal and vertical geometry, cross-sections, corridor models, and drainage coordination.
• Prepare contract drawings, tender documents, specifications, and cost opinions.
• Provide project management for small to medium transportation projects and assist senior PMs on larger commissions.
