Position Summary

Join Johnston Equipment as a Road Service Technician. The role involves conducting maintenance checks and diagnosing repairs for lift trucks and carousels at customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Examine overall operational integrity and condition of trucks.
• Find defective or worn out mechanical or electrical parts and communicate and execute next steps for repair solutions to the customer.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and order parts according to technical manuals.
• Document and analyze breakdowns based on standard procedures.
• Serve as the front‑line contact between GNJ and the customer, interacting with clients while maintaining technical expertise.

Qualifications

• High school completion or equivalent education, plus 3–5 years of experience as a mechanical technician or equivalent related experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine powered material handling equipment.
• Truck and Coach 310S Certification or Heavy Duty Technician Certification.
• Experience with industrial equipment involving lifting, rigging, maintenance, dismantling, and installation of machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment.
• Experience aligning equipment, using dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, hoists or jacks (plus).
• Ability to interpret and implement technical procedures.
• Solid knowledge of lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, customer‑service oriented.
• Effective analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work flexibly in a fast‑paced changing environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
