Position Summary:

Are you good with your hands and have a knack for all things technical? Join Johnston Equipment as a Road Service Technician.

As a Road Service Technician, you will conduct maintenance checks and diagnose repairs for lift trucks and carousels at customer sites.

How You’ll Make an Impact

You will be responsible for the overall operational integrity and condition of trucks with the following responsibilities:

  • Examine overall operational integrity and condition of the trucks.
  • Identify defective or worn-out mechanical or electrical parts, then communicate and execute next steps for repair solutions to the customer.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose and order parts according to technical manuals.
  • Document and analyze breakdowns based on standard procedures.
  • As a technician, you are the front-line contact between GNJ and the customer, so you should be comfortable with client contact as well as being technically savvy.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician or equivalent related experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine-powered material handling equipment.
  • Must have a Truck and Coach 310S Certification or Heavy Duty Technician Certification.
  • Knowledge of the use of hand tools and measuring devices, electrical/electronic diagnostic tools, and measurements.
  • Experience with industrial equipment involving lifting/rigging, maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment.
  • Experience aligning equipment using dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, hoists, or jacks is a plus.
  • Able to interpret and implement technical procedures.
  • Solid knowledge of general Lock-out / Tag-out procedures.
