Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. in Alberta, Canada, is seeking a Road Mechanic to service diesel equipment, pumps, generators and more across challenging remote locations.

You will work with a supportive team in a safety-focused environment, using your mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities to keep equipment productive. The role requires a High school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of mechanic experience, and a valid driver's license; CDL may be required in some locations.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of mechanic experience with diesel or heavy equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair a variety of diesel equipment and heavy machinery in remote locations.

Education or experience that prepares you for success:

• High school diploma or GED required, some trade school or equivalent training desired
• 1-2 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) based on role strongly preferred
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (21 years of age & CDL license may be required in some locations)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities you may rely on:

• May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs

Base Pay Range

Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
