Job summary

Halton Healthcare’s 3S Respiratory unit seeks a registered nurse to provide patient- and family-centered care on a 36-bed unit. You will work with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality care for respiratory and general medicine patients.

We value teamwork and a strong patient focus, with support for ongoing education, and a requirement to meet pre-employment immunization and health policies. Shifts are rotating 12-hour days and nights in Oakville, Ontario.

Qualifications

• Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Must be certified in Acute Care Nursing or a commitment to complete within 6 months of hire.
• Current Heart & Stroke Approved BLS Provider Card upon hire.
• Ability to manage a variety of patients conditions across the life span.
• Previous experience with Tracheostomy and BiPaP care preferred.
• Chronic Ventilator experience preferred(or commitment to complete training within 6 months).
• Completion of Coronary Care 1 (or commitment to complete within 6 months) or equivalent.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with strong public relations and organizational skills.
• Caring attitude with patients, families and co-workers.
• Must be physically able to do the job that involves heavy lifting and intensive physical effort.
• Demonstrates commitment to continuing education.
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
