Overview

Position:RN Surgery & GI – Surgery CenterLocation:Quincy, ILPay Range: $27.56 - $41.34 per hour

Schedule:Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

About the Role:

As an RN at Quincy Medical Group in the Surgery & GI department, you will play a critical role in supporting patients of all ages and backgrounds undergoing surgical procedures related to the gastrointestinal (GI) system. With a strong focus on pre-operative care, intra-operative care, post-operative care, and patient and family education. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with skilled surgeons and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing care, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and readiness throughout the surgical process.
  • Assess and monitor patients’ vital signs, anesthesia response, pain levels, and overall recovery progress, implementing appropriate interventions as needed.
  • Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, recovery expectations, medication management, and lifestyle modifications to support optimal healing.
  • Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver seamless, high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, adhere to policies and infection control standards, and demonstrate professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Assist with additional patient care needs to support overall department operations.

Qualifications:
