Pay Range

RPN: $22.44 - $28.99 / RN: $28.69 - $36.71

Program Overview

The Child and Family program serves families caring for children with complex medical needs, aged 1 to 25 years, requiring specialized care at home or in schools. The program covers Central East (Scarborough), North York, Toronto Central, and Central West regions. Opportunities include shift and visiting nurse roles.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and administer medical interventions such as tube feeding and medication.
  • Maintain and clean medical equipment and supplies.
  • Receive training in pediatric care, including tracheostomy tubes, mechanical ventilators, and G-tubes.

Key Areas of Accountability
  • Assess, monitor, and develop care plans.
  • Evaluate care interventions through ongoing reassessment.
  • Ensure quality and safety of care, demonstrating professionalism and accountability.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
  • Maintain documentation standards per the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Qualifications
  • Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in good standing.
  • Membership in professional associations like RNAO or WeRPN is preferred.
  • Diploma or degree in nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Valid First Aid or CPR certification.
  • Experience in pediatric, acute, or medical-surgical nursing is an asset.
  • Knowledge of community nursing is an asset.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and availability.
  • Valid Ontario G license and reliable vehicle are assets.
