RN, Registered Nurse Lead - Surgical Services

Supports and coordinates day-to-day activities of nursing personnel in patient care units, provides direction to Clinical Staff, implements work of assigned units, and coordinates activities with other patient care units and related departments. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to plan long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation.

It is the leading emergency facility in the area with a Level II Trauma Center, staffed with specially trained physicians and nurses.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and oversee patient care delivery during an assigned shift, ensuring proper staffing and smooth operations.
  • Coach and counsel team members; monitor performance and address training needs.
  • Document staffing, operational, and administrative records; ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Provide direction and support to nursing staff, promoting respect for patient dignity and rights, and facilitate communication with patients and families.
  • Allocate resources responsibly, delegate appropriately, and provide oversight and guidance.
  • Mediates and resolves conflicts among individuals, groups, and departments.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting.
  • BLS certification required.
  • RN License in the state of employment or a valid compact license.

Work Schedule: 5 days, 8 hours each.
