POSITION: REGISTERED NURSE

Primary Site: Stratford

Critical Care (Intensive Care Unit) & Integrated Stroke Unit(ISU)/ Telemetry

Temporary Full-time

REPORTS TO: Manager, ICU, ISU/Telemetry and Cardiorespiratory

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $39.07 to $56.00 per hour

Qualifications

  • Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario

Experience

  • Recent/related clinical experience (minimum two years) in Critical Care Nursing and Cardiac Care Nursing
  • Recent/related courses, in-services in Critical Care Nursing and Cardiac Care Nursing
  • Recent clinical experience (minimum two years) in Stroke Care/Rehabilitation preferred
  • Recent/related courses, in-services in Stroke Care/Rehabilitation nursing preferred

Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent physical assessment skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to engage patient and family partners in patient education related to the

Critical Care setting

  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications
  • Ability to understand and interpret typical and atypical telemetry and cardiac monitoring preferred

Required Skills

  • Recent Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course
  • Recent 12 lead ECG interpretation course
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pacemaker Management
  • Ventilator Management
  • Haemodynamic Monitoring

Preferred Skills

  • Recognized Critical Care Certificate
  • CNCC(C)
