Current Rate of Pay: Min $39.07 - Max $ 56.00

Current Shifts: All Shifts (Temporary Part-time until approximately October 31, 2026)

Position Summary:

The primary role of the RN is to provide high quality, safe, effective and evidence-based care in partnership with patients and families, in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards and GGH’s mission, vision, values and policies. The RN optimizes the patient’s experience and care outcomes by:

1. Being accountable for one’s decisions and professional practice;
2. Establishing a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family;
3. Collaborating with other members of the patient’s care team;
4. Coordinating, communicating and documenting patient care activities.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:

1. Certificate of registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
2. BLS certification.
3. Current certification in Fetal Health Surveillance in Labour.
4. Current certification in Basic Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
5. Certification for Level 1 & 2 Breastfeeding.
6. Perinatal certification or evidence of plan to complete certificate.
7. Perinatal Registered Nursing experience including recent Labour and Delivery experience including antenatal and intrapartum care, recent Caesarean Section experience including the ability to scrub, circulate and recover, and recent Post-Partum experience with demonstrated ability in caring for the mother/baby dyad.
8. Demonstrated neonatal and maternal assessment skills.
9. Demonstrated breastfeeding knowledge, teaching and leadership skills.
10. Recent experience in triage an asset.
11. Recent experience in neonatal resuscitation and care of the newborn.
12. PNC(C) or eligible an asset.
13. Perioperative Nursing Certificate an asset.
14. Experience in caring for sick newborns.
15. Demonstrated commitment to best practice, nursing standards and life-long learning.
16. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
17. Strong organizational and time management skills.
18. Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
19. Demonstrated excellent assessment skills.
20. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
