Overview

Position:RN Surgery & GI Pre-Admit – Surgery CenterLocation:Quincy, ILPay Range: $31.91 - $47.87 per hour

Schedule:Full-time, Monday – Friday

About the Role:

The RN Coordinator for the Pre-Admit and Scheduling Team at the Surgery Center plays a vital dual role in clinical excellence and operational leadership. This position is responsible for overseeing and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Pre-Admit and Scheduling teams to ensure optimal patient care, timely and accurate surgical scheduling, and strong interdepartmental collaboration.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the Pre-Admit and Scheduling teams, ensuring efficiency, collaboration, and a positive work environment.
  • Serve as a go-to resource for staff on workflows, training, and clinical decision-making.
  • Manage team schedules, workload distribution, and support staff development.
  • Monitor performance, lead quality improvement efforts, and help develop standard procedures.
  • Facilitate communication across departments and act as liaison with Surgery Center leadership, promote alignment, and patient safety.
  • Perform pre-admission assessments and documentation for ASC patients, ensuring accuracy in the EMR and effective communication with patients, physicians, anesthesiologists, and care teams.
  • Provide safe, organized, and compassionate care using clinical equipment efficiently and reporting any issues promptly.
  • Maintain compliance with required certifications and actively pursue ongoing professional development to stay current with nursing practices.
  • Participate in policy development, supply inventory support, and quality improvement initiatives across the ASC.
  • Conduct post-op patient follow-up always calls and uphold patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment by mentoring new staff, assisting colleagues, and participating in meetings and in-service trainings.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, adhere to policies and infection control standards, and demonstrate professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Assist with additional patient care needs to support overall department operations.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in Illinois required.

• Demonstrated leadership experience or strong interest in developing leadership skills.

• Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills.• Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience preferred.• BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS certification preferred.
