Cadet Camp Quadra 6 July - 18 August

Short term employment. Full & Part-time hours.

Rations and Quarters may be available if required. Language - English.

Pay Rate $47+/hr

Duties And Responsibilities

RNs are responsible for first aid to cadets, cadet instructors, and onsite civilians. The provision of service to patients is on a walk-in basis. Activities include:

  • Conducting patient history and physical assessment
  • Patient screening
  • Performing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
  • Counselling patients on preventative health care
  • Facilitating access to health services and referrals

The HCP must be available for shifts as per the clinic schedule, including weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities include:
  • Applying policies and procedures for medical services to various members
  • Assessing and providing care to patients
  • Referring complex cases to senior medical staff
  • Recording observations and treatments
  • Providing OTC medication as delegated
  • Following up with patients and promoting health and safety
  • Assisting physicians during clinic hours
  • Managing cadet medication and intake forms
Head/Charge Nurse Responsibilities
  • Assessing patients and determining care levels
  • Responding to queries from health professionals and leadership
  • Supervising and mentoring student nurses
  • Performing administrative tasks including reporting and stock management
Administrative Functions
  • Handling communications and documentation
  • Managing clinic supplies and medication audits
  • Ensuring clinic operations and reporting are maintained
Additional Requirements

The candidate must successfully complete the Police Records Check (PRC)/Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) process due to working with youth.
