Job description

Lafarge, one of Canada’s leading suppliers of Ready Mix concrete, has a requirement for Ready-Mix truck drivers. Some locations operate all year round. Enjoy day-shifts, driving locally.

Responsibilities

1. Delivering concrete to customers in a safe and timely manner.
2. Work safely and have a safety mindset.
3. Upkeep of truck appearance.
4. Assist with light maintenance around the plants.
5. Follow and ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
6. Complete pre-trip inspections and other required paperwork or electronic checkpoints as instructed.
7. Communicate positively and problem-solve with your plant team.
8. Assist other local Ready Mix operations from time to time.

Qualifications

1. Educational Background: Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
2. Skills & Experience:
   Valid Class DZ driver's license or equivalent. A clean driving record.
   Manual Transmission experience is an asset.
   3 – 5 years of experience in the trucking industry preferred.
3. Physical Attributes: Must be able to work in outdoor and indoor work environments in all weather. Availability for shift work is required. Flexible hours may be required on occasion to meet the demands of our customers, which will include overtime and weekend work.
   Able to perform a variety of physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs, stepping up, carrying, climbing, bending, reaching, push/pull, gripping, squatting, climbing ladders, etc.
4. Experience in ReadyMix is not required if the candidate has a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
