What you will do...

  • Provide detailed farm, commercial and residential inspections in your designated region.
  • Travel extensively throughout your designated region within a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Organizing and carrying out inspections to evaluate properties and report on-site observations for insurance underwriting purposes.
  • Identifying and analyzing hazards and critical issues, measuring buildings, and taking photographs, as well as inspecting features, such as fire prevention systems, heating equipment, and fuel storage tanks.
  • Develop and submit electronic reports, complete with thermal and digital imagery as well as recommendations to underwriting.
  • Clear communication of requirements to brokers and insureds.
  • Develop and maintain fully documented inspection files.
  • Participate in on-going training and continuous education.
  • Provide education/awareness sessions to all key stakeholders.

What you will bring...

  • A valid Ontario driver's license and an exceptional driving record are required. A company vehicle and all work-related equipment will be provided.
  • Minimum 3 years with a commercial or farm loss control background.
  • General knowledge of electrical, mechanical and/or construction, W.E.T.T knowledge and fire knowledge would be an asset.
  • Education/courses relevant to risk management, valuation and/or other insurance accreditation will be an asset.
  • Experience using RCT, Douglas Cost Guides and other insurance to value software is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education and/or trade.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be a self-starter and work well independently.
