OMERS is seeking a student to contribute to risk programming and analytics. You will support measurement of market and liquidity risks, assist with metrics, and help prepare data-driven insights for leadership.

Qualifications

Enrolment in a university degree in a quantitative field.
Ability to understand and apply financial and statistical principles.
Broad understanding of major investment asset classes.
Experience using Python and Power BI or creating visualizations.
Exceptional communication skills.
Eager to learn and curious.

Responsibilities

Contributing to the ongoing development of a leading Risk program to support OMERS investment activities and evolution of its investment strategies.
Working with the total plan risk team to implement new metrics aligned with the refreshed Risk Framework.
Supporting the development, testing, and implementing metrics to measure market and liquidity risks.
Supporting reporting needs, including quarterly Board reporting.
Performing ad hoc research on special projects as required.
Providing data and analytical support to the team, including working with large data sets and data automation.
