Job Description:

As an Analyst RPG/SQL, you will play a critical role in analyzing, maintaining, and enhancing our ERP system tailored for automotive dealerships. This position requires strong analytical and technical skills to assess business needs, propose solutions, and ensure system improvements align with organizational goals. You will collaborate with stakeholders to optimize business processes while ensuring the stability and efficiency of our ERP platform.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Business and System Analysis:
• Work closely with the Product Manager and stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements.
• Assess existing system processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
• System Maintenance and Enhancement:
• Support and optimize existing RPG, RPG4, and SQL-based applications on DB2.
• Analyze system performance and recommend enhancements for stability and efficiency.
• Work with legacy systems, with a strong advantage for those familiar with RPG36.
• Technical Documentation:
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for system workflows, database structures, and modifications.
• Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
• Collaboration and Project Management:
• Work with developers to ensure proper implementation of system changes based on business requirements.
• Manage tasks in Jira, tracking analysis and recommendations effectively.
• Facilitate communication between technical teams and business users.
• Testing and Validation:
• Define test cases and conduct system validation to ensure quality and alignment with business needs. Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide guidance on expected outcomes.
• Assist in deploying updates and ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to end users.
• Support and Troubleshooting:
• Provide second-line support for technical issues, identifying root causes and recommending solutions.
• Work with developers to solve performance bottlenecks or bugs in existing applications.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated on advancements in RPG, SQL, and database management.
• Contribute to improving system efficiency and optimizing existing business processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong expertise in RPG (RPG III, RPG IV) and SQL.
• Knowledge of DB2 databases and database optimization.
• Familiarity with legacy RPG36 systems (a significant advantage).
• Ability to analyze complex business processes and propose technical solutions.
• Experience with version control and task management tools, such as Git and Jira.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in the automotive industry or dealership systems.
• Familiarity with modern development practices and tools.
