Job description

We are currently requesting resumes for the following position: Modification Team Lead/Engineering Coordinator

Resume Due Date: Friday, May 9th, 2025 (5:00PM EST)

Number of Vacancies: 4

Level: MP4

Duration: 36 Months

Hours of work: 40 (with possible requirement for more than 44 hours per week during the contract period; only submit candidates who can support this)

Location: 889 Brock Road, Pickering (100% on site)

Job Overview:

  1. Support Project Control Centre (PCC) as PCC engineer to address engineering issues during 8-12 hour shifts.
  2. Prepare Technical Work Packages, including work plans for Modifications, Temporary Modifications, and Non-Identical Component Replacements for Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control design modifications.
  3. Provide Engineering Change Control (ECC) guidance, support field issues and Field Initiated Changes, and facilitate positive outcomes with EPC vendors.
  4. Oversee engineering deliverables supporting plant operations throughout its lifetime, including design, construction, testing, commissioning, and maintenance.
  5. Lead and participate in project stages, ensuring safety, quality, and performance standards are met.
  6. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and contractors to achieve project goals.
  7. Apply OPG ECC processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices.
  8. Understand impacts on cost and schedule, and support efforts to minimize these impacts during projects.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering preferred.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written, including technical report writing and standard development.
  • In-depth knowledge of nuclear and conventional systems, including relevant engineering processes, codes, and standards.
  • Experience with OPG ECC processes is highly desirable.
  • People management skills or training, with ability to mentor and guide teams.
  • Experience in Project Coordination and Nuclear Refurbishment projects is preferred.
