Position: Wireless Systems Designer

Location: Atlantic Wireless Network RF, Engineering & Planning team

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, augmenting, and optimizing the Rogers Wireless radio access network.

What You'll Do
  1. RF engineering and design of the Rogers Wireless radio access network, including GSM/UMTS/LTE/NR/CatM/NBIOT technologies.
  2. Apply propagation, cellular, and antenna theory, using RF engineering tools to optimize cell site placement, antenna configurations, and network parameters for coverage and capacity.
  3. Produce and review RF-related documents and tasks, including RF Qualifications, RF Propagation studies, and RF Collocation requests.
  4. Review civil and RF design requests, approve cell designs, and manage RF work orders and reports.
  5. Utilize network performance tools to analyze and resolve network KPI issues.
  6. Support network modifications, technology updates, and regulatory compliance.
  7. Respond to internal and external requests regarding wireless network design and performance.
  8. Maintain engineering documentation, reports, and databases.
  9. Present engineering results and recommendations to executives when required.
  10. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders effectively.
What You Bring
  1. Minimum 2 years’ experience in wireless telecom industry.
  2. Strong background in radio network design for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks.
  3. Knowledge of network KPIs and parameters, experience with Ericsson OSS and ENM platforms preferred.
  4. Degree in Electrical, Telecommunications, or Computer Engineering; PE designation preferred.
  5. Understanding of radio protocols and propagation principles, experience with RF planning tools and safety standards.
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, VBA, SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate, Python, SQL is an asset.
  7. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, fluent in English.
