Job summary

Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a Revit Detailer to join the Electrical ICI team in Scarborough, on site as required. You will support project managers through pre-construction planning, prefabrication and BIM/CAD detailing across the electrical construction process.

Responsibilities include creating installation drawings in Revit and Navisworks, coordinating with trades, and maintaining accurate as-built records. You will ensure models reflect field conditions and support project success.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in BIM or related field
• Familiarity with electrical construction products and installation methods
• Recent training and/or experience with Building Information Modelling software (Revit)
• Basic knowledge of the building code/electrical code
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and Navisworks
• Highly organized, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Self-sufficient with initiative and attention to detail
• Input data and update As-builts

• Prepare electrical installation drawings, details and sketches from concept to construction documents using Autodesk Revit & Navisworks
• Collaborate with project managers and other BIM/CAD detailers to support electrical projects
• Coordinate with other trades to develop clash-free BIM models
• Maintain accurate as-built drawings and reflect site progress in the Revit model
• Update BIM models in real time for field changes and deviations from design
• Ensure model reflects installed work with field teams and foremen
• Perform quality control of installed electrical systems using GPS/Total Station
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between model and site conditions

The Revit Detailer will be located in Scarborough and on site as required. The Revit detailer typically reports directly to the Division Manager. You will support the project managers in all phases of - Pre-construction Planning, Prefabrication, BIM / CAD detailing throughout the electrical construction process.

• Responsible for the preparation of electrical installation drawings, details and sketches from conceptual design to construction documents for building structures using Autodesk Revit & Navisworks
• Working with project managers and other BIM / CAD detailers and contribute to the success of our electrical projects
• Liaison with counterparts from other trades to develop clash free BIM 3D models
• Track and reflect site installation progress within the Revit model by maintaining accurate as-built drawings throughout the construction lifecycle
• Update BIM models in real time to reflect field changes, site conditions, and approved deviations from design
• Coordinate closely with field teams, project managers, and foreman to ensure the model accurately represents installed work
• Perform quality control and verification of installed electrical systems using GPS and/or total station equipment to confirm accuracy and compliance with design intent
• Identify discrepancies between the model and field conditions and proactively resolve issues to maintain model integrity and constructability

WHAT YOU CAN OFFER

• Post-secondary education in a subject related to Autodesk Revit & Navisworks
• Familiarity with electrical construction products and installation methods
• Recent training and/or experience with Building Information Modelling software (Revit)
• Basic knowledge of the building code/electrical code
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and Navisworks
• Highly organized, flexible and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Must be self-sufficient and take initiative and have strong attention to detail
• Be able to input data, complete and update As-builts

The expected salary range for this role is between $55,000 - $65,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, annual discretionary bonus, career development programs, and other HR programs.
