Job summary

Mercer is seeking a Retirement Actuarial professional to join our Calgary team in a hybrid role requiring at least three days in the office. You will engage in benefit calculations, regulatory filings and funding analyses, supporting client relationships and actuarial valuations.

The ideal candidate has a math/actuarial background, Excel proficiency, and strong communication skills, with pension or actuarial experience preferred and SOA exams considered an asset.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance or related field.
  • Pension-related or actuarial work experience is preferable.
  • One or more Society Of Actuaries professional exams is an asset.
  • Deep technical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Programming skills are a plus.
  • Strong independence but also a collegial team player.
  • Willingness to share ideas and voice opinions.
  • Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate individual benefits and entitlements, produce employee benefit statements.

Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Retirement Actuarial team at Mercer. This role will be based in Calgary. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:
