Job description

Key Responsibilities

  1. Patient Care & Diagnosis
    1. Conduct comprehensive eye exams and diagnostic imaging (OCT, fluorescein angiography, ultrasound, etc.).
    2. Diagnose and manage retinal diseases, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears, and detachments.
    3. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and latest clinical guidelines.
  2. Treatment & Surgical Procedures
    1. Perform in-office procedures such as intravitreal injections (anti-VEGF, steroids).
    2. Conduct laser treatments for retinal conditions (e.g., photocoagulation, panretinal laser therapy).
  3. Collaboration & Patient Education
    1. Work closely with optometrists, general ophthalmologists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
    2. Educate patients and families about retinal diseases, treatment options, and preventive care.
    3. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in retina care through continuing education and research.
  4. Administrative & Compliance
    1. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation following regulatory standards.
    2. Participate in clinical trials and research, if applicable.
    3. Adhere to HIPAA and healthcare compliance policies.

Qualifications

  1. Education: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
  2. Residency: Completed ophthalmology residency program.
  3. Fellowship: Completed a 1–2 year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery.
  4. Licensing & Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in ophthalmology; NH medical license required.
  5. Skills:
    1. Expertise in medical and surgical retina care.
    2. Strong diagnostic and surgical skills.
    3. Excellent communication and patient interaction abilities.
    4. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

  1. Outpatient clinical setting.
  2. May require evening or weekend hours for emergency retinal cases.
  3. Participate in office on call responsibility.
