The Retail Store Manager is responsible for the daily operations and profitability of the establishment according to set goals and business objectives. Daily operations include staff management, customer satisfaction, neat product presentation, inventory management, and executing seasonal changes and promotional activities.
Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers professionally, setting an example for staff.
- Address and resolve customer complaints positively.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations.
- Maintain adequate stock through efficient inventory management.
- Conduct scheduled inventory counts and prepare reports.
- Increase sales, expand markets, and promote the business within guidelines.
- Verify invoices, track expenditures, and manage financial records.
- Ensure merchandise presentation is neat and items are correctly priced.
- Make informed purchasing decisions with volume discounts.
- Provide management with sales, staff, and productivity reports.
- Hold staff accountable for cash handling discrepancies.
- Balance daily sales, print receipts, and record revenue.
- Make daily bank deposits and reconcile bank statements.
- Coordinate the ordering and receiving of cannabis and accessories.
- Supervise staff and coordinate work to ensure productivity at all hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid QCW/Sell Safe certification for working in a Cannabis store in Alberta.
- High school diploma; college, CEGEP, or vocational training preferred.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience in retail.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Management experience is preferred.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to train and motivate staff.
- Skills to monitor staff performance.
- Basic office administration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills.
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
- Culturally and politically sensitive.
- Ability to plan, organize, and complete work effectively.
- Diplomacy, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to learn sales software quickly.
