Job Summary
PetSmart’s Store Leader oversees safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial outcomes, and HR functions within the store. Provides leadership by driving culture, achieving results, championing service, and upholding company values.
Essential Responsibilities
Includes, but not limited to:
People Leadership:- Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, coaching, and terminating staff.
- Fostering an open-door culture, engaging with associates, and leveraging feedback tools.
- Creating schedules, supporting development, and managing performance reviews.
- Delegating tasks, empowering team members, and facilitating communication.
- Addressing grievances, recognizing achievements, and ensuring timely reviews.
Overall Store Experience:- Leading customer and pet experience, ensuring pet safety and health.
- Handling escalated concerns, improving store environment, and collaborating on community events.
- Maintaining standards, safety, inventory, and store policies.
- Monitoring safety practices, responding to incidents, and managing store procedures.
Business Management:- Executing strategy and achieving profitability goals.
- Analyzing reports, driving growth, managing expenses, and overseeing schedules and payroll.
Qualifications
- 4-6 years retail leadership experience.
- Full-time availability, flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays.
- Proficiency in computer applications, strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Supervisory Responsibility
- Overseeing Experience Leader, Process Leader, and up to 6 lead associates and 70 non-leader associates.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasional exposure to noise, pet hair, and live animals.
