Job summary

Allied Universal Balzac, AB is seeking a Security Guard - Retail Centre to protect people, property and assets. The role requires vigilance, clear communication, and the ability to respond quickly to incidents while delivering professional customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and clients.

The position is full-time, with Friday to Tuesday shifts from 16:00 to 24:00, paying $18 per hour. Applicants must hold Alberta Security Services Worker Licence and First Aid/CPR, be 18+, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of security experience, preferably in Retail environments.
• Valid Alberta Security Services Worker Licence (required).
• Valid First Aid & CPR Certification.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada and available to work up to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Regular interior and exterior site patrols to maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain high visibility at security posts and cover restricted areas.
• Enforce access control by verifying IDs and badges.
• Produce accurate badges while maintaining confidentiality.
• Monitor CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
• Communicate effectively with security personnel and management.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with emergency services.
• Complete incident and patrol reports and handover documentation.
• Prevent theft, vandalism, and other security risks.
• General security duties and addressing safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate security records and documentation.
• Adapt quickly to new security technologies and procedures.
• Manage multiple priorities while delivering customer service.
