The Role : Part Time Retail Sales Representative for General Mills & Blue Buffalo - Saskatoon, SK - 24 HRS / WEEK

Position Summary :

Our client is General Mills, whose brands - such as Cheerios, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Old El Paso, Yoplait, and Liberte Yogurt - are enjoyed in more than 100 countries on six continents. Blue Buffalo Pet Foods, also part of the General Mills family, is a healthy pet food brand with a core belief : "Love them like family. Feed them like family." Your role is to identify business development opportunities to drive sales within an assigned geographical territory.

What You’ll Be Doing Every Day :

  • Represent General Mills and Blue Buffalo professionally by providing retail customers with excellent service.
  • Work with your Manager to set territory goals based on company objectives and develop strategies to meet or exceed targets by :
  • Developing customer relations to become a trusted advisor
  • Introducing new products and promotional events into the market
  • Leveraging selling skills to solicit orders for account bookings and allocations
  • Closing distribution gaps by confirming correct shelf tags are present in compliance with account listings & store planograms
  • Ensuring supply availability through merchandising and checking order / inventory status
  • Negotiating space for and building Gold Standard displays to maximize visibility, and confirming and correcting display implementations
  • Using sales tools to identify opportunities & gaps and determine action plans to drive sales, improve distribution, and increase overall profitability in your territory
  • Recognizing and utilizing regional sales trends to maximize in-store performance
  • Providing feedback and insights on retail conditions and issues encountered
  • Other duties as required

Your Experience :

  • Ideally 1-3 years of territory sales and merchandising experience in CPG
  • Superior communication and presentation skills

  • Strong personal drive, positive attitude, and excellent problem-solving skills

  • Ability to store supplies at home and transport them in your vehicle
  • Some overnight travel may be required in remote areas
