The Role : Part Time Retail Sales Representative for General Mills & Blue Buffalo - Fraser Valley, BC (Maple Ridge, Abbotsford, Mission, Langley) - Approx. 22 hrs. / week

Position Summary :

Our client is General Mills, whose brands - such as Cheerios, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Old El Paso, Yoplait & Liberte Yogurt - are enjoyed in more than 100 countries on six continents. Your role is to identify business development opportunities to drive sales within an assigned geographical territory.

What You’ll Be Doing Every Day :

  • Represent General Mills and Blue Buffalo professionally by providing retail customers with excellent service.
  • Work with your manager to set territory goals based on company objectives and develop strategies to meet or exceed targets by :

Developing customer relations to become a trusted advisor.

  • Introducing new products and promotional events into the market.
  • Using selling skills to solicit orders for account bookings and allocations.
  • Closing distribution gaps by confirming correct shelf tags are in place in accordance with account listings & store planograms.
  • Ensuring product supply through merchandising and checking order / inventory status.
  • Negotiating space and building Gold Standard displays to maximize visibility, and confirming display implementations.
  • Utilizing sales tools to identify opportunities & gaps, and determine action plans to drive sales and profitability.
  • Recognizing and leveraging regional sales trends to optimize in-store performance.
  • Providing feedback on retail conditions and issues encountered.
  • Performing other duties as required.
  • Your Experience :

  • Ideally 1-3 years of territory sales and merchandising experience in CPG.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Bilingual (French / English).
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Effective selling skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence and lead change.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Aptitude for quick learning, strategic planning, and working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Reliable vehicle and access to high-speed internet with WiFi at home.
  • Ability to store supplies at home and transport in your vehicle.
  • Some overnight travel in remote areas may be required.
