The Role: Part Time Retail Sales Representative for General Mills & Blue Buffalo - Brantford, ON - 17 HRS/WEEK

Position Summary:

Our client is General Mills, whose brands - such as Cheerios, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Old El Paso, Yoplait, and Liberté Yogurt - are enjoyed in more than 100 countries on six continents. Blue Buffalo Pet Foods, also part of the General Mills family, is a healthy pet food brand with the core belief: "Love them like family. Feed them like family." Your role is to identify business development opportunities to drive sales within an assigned geographical territory.

What You’ll Be Doing Every Day:

  • Represent General Mills and Blue Buffalo professionally by providing retail customers with excellent service.
  • Work with your Manager to set territory goals based on company objectives and develop strategies to meet or exceed targets by:
    • Developing customer relationships to become a trusted advisor.
    • Introducing new products and promotional events into the market.
    • Leveraging selling skills to solicit orders for account bookings and allocations.
    • Closing distribution gaps by confirming correct shelf tags in compliance with account listings & store planograms.
    • Ensuring supply availability through merchandising and checking order/inventory status.
    • Negotiating space for and building Gold Standard displays to maximize points of interruption, and confirming and correcting previously agreed display implementations.
    • Using sales tools to identify opportunities & gaps, and determine action plans to drive sales, improve distribution, recognize underperforming categories, and increase overall profitability in your territory.
    • Recognizing and utilizing regional sales trends to maximize in-store performance.
    • Providing feedback and insights on retail conditions and issues encountered.
    • Performing other duties as required.

Your Experience:

  • Ideally 1-3 years of territory sales and merchandising experience in CPG.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills.
  • Bilingual (French/English).
  • Amazing relationship-building skills.
  • Strong selling skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence and lead change.
  • Strong personal drive, positive attitude, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Aptitude for fast learning, strategic planning, and self-support in a fast-paced environment.

  • The ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Full access to a reliable vehicle.
  • High-speed internet with WiFi at home.
  • The ability to store supplies at home and transport them in your vehicle.
  • Some overnight travel may be required in remote areas.
