Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: Experience an asset

Work setting: Retail business

Tasks:

1. Accept cash, cheque, credit card or automatic debit payment
2. Operate cash register
3. Prepare sales, rental or leasing contracts
4. Operate computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering systems
5. Provide advice about merchandise
6. Advertise and/or promote products, sales or services
7. Perform data entry
8. Provide customer service
9. Assist in display of merchandise
10. Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties and delivery dates
11. Greet customers and discuss type, quality and quantity of merchandise or services sought for purchase, rental or lease
12. Maintain sales records for inventory control
13. Prepare merchandise for purchase, rental or lease
