Position Overview
We are seeking adynamic, hands-on Retail Sales Managerto lead the day-to-day operations and long-term success of The Buffalo Room. This role combines people leadership, visual merchandising, inventory management, and customer engagement in a fast-paced, values-driven environment.
The ideal candidate is a motivated and organized individual with a passion for retail, a strong eye for design, and the ability to foster a positive team culture. You will work closely with the General Manager and other departments to elevate the retail experience while optimizing operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of The Buffalo Room to ensure excellence in customer service, sales performance, and overall store presentation
- Greet and engage customers, offering personalized product recommendations and creating a warm, inviting shopping experience
- Lead, train, schedule, and support a team of retail staff—ensuring high morale, accountability, and ongoing professional development
- Manage inventory levels: place orders, receive shipments, maintain stockrooms, and coordinate with vendors to ensure optimal product availability
- Plan and execute visual merchandising strategies and seasonal displays to highlight key products and enhance sales
- Operate and manage the point-of-sale system; process transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement
- Collaborate with the General Manager to review store sales, staffing needs, and performance metrics
- Support and participate in marketing initiatives such as social media content, in-store demonstrations, and events tied to The Buffalo Room
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, stock room, storage areas, and customer washrooms; dispose of garbage and recyclables responsibly
- Work flexible hours, including weekends and the occasional evening, especially during peak seasons and special events
- Perform additional duties as assigned to contribute to the success of The Buffalo Room and Saskatoon Farm
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 yearsof experience in the retail industry
- At least 1 yearin a retail management or supervisory role
- Proven ability to lead teams and achieve performance targets
- Experience in visual merchandising, inventory management, and customer service
- Comfortable using retail technology, POS systems, and basic reporting tools
- Creative, detail-oriented, and solution-focused
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage:$24 - $26 per hour (based on experience)
