Job Summary

PetSmart’s Pet Associate (Retail Sales Associate) engages with pet parents and their pets, providing positive experiences and upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. Responsibilities include store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct care of store pets.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure positive pet parent experience both in-store and online.
• Greet pet parents and answer questions.
• Prepare online orders for pickup.
• Care for store pets, including feeding and habitat cleaning.
• Maintain store cleanliness standards.
• Support pricing changes and promotions.
• Stage and sort new products.
• Replenish and recover products on the sales floor.
• Recommend and sell merchandise, services, and pets.
• Administer pet medications as directed by a veterinarian.
• Promote events like adoptions and charity drives.
• Ensure a safe environment for everyone and handle sick or injured pets promptly.
• Assist in various store areas as needed.
• Participate in our culture of Belonging and Recognition.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to react under pressure and stay composed.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Stand, walk, climb, and handle objects frequently; reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear.
• Lift up to 50 pounds regularly; team lift over 100 pounds occasionally.
• Work involves exposure to moving parts, wet environments, pet hair, and noise; handling live animals is common.
