MacEwan University is seeking casual Retail Sales Associates with the University Bookstore. You would be responsible for providing customer service, till operations, sales, clerical functions, and retail maintenance.

We are looking for positive, energetic people who enjoy working with others in a busy, high-pressure environment. Commencing in August or September 2025, please include your availability for August as well as include your class schedule and availability for the Fall Term (September 2025).

Key responsibilities include :

  • Confidently providing customers with product information, prompt and effective resolution of customer service complaints and inquires;
  • Informing supervisor of concerns and discrepancies;
  • Processing transactions utilizing a Point-of-Sale system, including sales, returns and exchanges;
  • Maintaining a welcoming, safe environment for customers to positively experience the store;
  • Supporting the process of receiving, counting, tagging and organizing inventory and customer orders;
  • Preparing merchandise for sale, and executing plans to merchandise products in an appealing fashion by ensuring accuracy of shelf-tags, product pricing and shelf allocation, cleaning and organization;
  • Replenishing floor stock and keep buyers informed of product sell-through observations at peak times;
  • Assisting in promoting products, advertising specials, and communicating promotions; and
  • Processing e-commerce orders including picking, packaging and mailing out orders.

Skills

You will have :

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;

  • The capability of lifting and moving boxes of textbooks and supplies up to 50lbs.
