What is a Retail Parts Pro?

A professional-level sales position supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. This role requires expert knowledge of store systems, automotive systems, and parts. The Retail Parts Pro can identify, troubleshoot, and assist with projects for DIY customers, sourcing parts from various channels including special orders, FDO, and second sources. In-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes is essential. This is a full-time position.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone inquiries.
  2. Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives.
  3. Manage DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
  4. Maintain high standards of customer service and store appearance.
  5. Perform key holder duties, including task assignment, safety, and opening/closing procedures.
Secondary Responsibilities
  1. Assist with store inventory processes like truck put away, cycle counts, and back stock management.
  2. Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, and parking lot.
  3. Provide DIY services as needed.
Success Factors

  • Proficiency with inventory systems and store equipment.
  • Parts and automotive system knowledge.
  • Operating POS and parts lookup systems.

  • Complete Parts Knowledge Assessment successfully.
  • Accurate basic math skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends.
Prior Experience

3-5 years of automotive parts experience with proven sales ability and customer transaction fulfillment.

Education & Certifications

Must have a valid driver's license. ASE certification is preferred but not required.
