About this Position
This role is responsible for leading, managing, coordinating, and implementing the customer scope of work within a designated area to provide exceptional Janitorial Services. You will also be responsible for increasing revenue from existing customers and managing a mobile workforce.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and implementation of plans for customers (e.g., waxing schedules, budgets, potential add-on sales opportunities).
- Build strong relationships with customers and subcontractors.
- Train subcontractors and employees on required legislated training (WHMIS, Health & Safety, etc.) and United cleaning-specific training.
- Lead process initiatives and work with senior management to identify trends and process gaps.
- Analyze and control store budgets, monitor expenses, and develop strategies to decrease costs and increase profitability at the store level.
- Implement transitions of new business in customer locations in compliance with transition processes.
- Support hiring, recruitment, training, performance management, and termination of subcontractors.
- Work in compliance with Health & Safety policies and legislation.
Job Requirements
- Availability to address customer and subcontractor needs and concerns promptly.
- Ability to work flexible shifts on a rotation basis, including evenings and nights.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the designated territory.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment and solve problems effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Skills and Qualifications
- Business acumen, strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Active listening, time management, leadership, autonomy, and technological proficiency.
- Experience managing budgets and costs within janitorial operational environments.
- Knowledge of floor-care and cleaning procedures is an asset.
- Ability to motivate a mobile team of subcontractors.
Education and Experience
- Degree in business administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the janitorial industry or a similar operational environment.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
