Job Summary

Reporting to the Territory Manager, the Retail Merchandiser is a part-time role that is an integral part of the field merchandising team. The Retail Merchandiser will be responsible for maintaining Hallmark Canada departments within pharmacy, grocery, or big box retailers in mass channel accounts, including ordering, receiving, and merchandising of products in accordance with a master schedule and merchandising plan.

Responsibilities & Duties
  1. Supports merchandising service with inventory management and merchandising activities in assigned retail accounts. This includes everyday products as well as seasonal products and change outs.
  2. Maintains scheduled service visits weekly and stays within set budgets, which may vary depending on retail occasions. Increased availability is required during the week leading up to and following major seasons.
  3. Follows merchandising plans, productivity standards, and schedules provided, with attention to detail. Shares feedback with the Territory Manager to improve efficiency and productivity. Flexibility is needed to react to issues that arise on-site.
  4. Provides support to cover vacant accounts, holiday periods, and seasonal peak demand periods.
  5. Assists with department revisions, remerchandising, relocations, and new store installations as required.
Communication Skills
  • Maintains ongoing scheduled and unscheduled communication with the Territory Manager to stay informed about upcoming programs and in-store activities.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with account management as a Hallmark representative, coordinating scheduled service calls.
  • Communicates clearly to ensure accounts are serviced and merchandised to meet or exceed retail standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • High School Diploma.
  • Experience in a retail environment is beneficial.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Strong knowledge of Smartphone technology and ability to manage email effectively.
