Securiguard Asset Protection Security Guards

Securiguard is seeking passionate and experienced individuals to join our team as Asset Protection Security Guards. Join us in this elite role where your vigilance and dedication contribute to the overall safety and success of our retail partner.

The Day-to-Day

As a Loss Prevention Security Guard at Securiguard, your role involves safeguarding assets and minimizing losses for our retail client. Your responsibilities include:

1. Conducting routine surveillance using keen observational skills to identify and prevent theft, fraud, or other security breaches.
2. Patrolling the premises regularly and interacting with customers and employees to deter potential incidents while maintaining high customer service standards.
3. Investigating suspicious activities and reviewing CCTV footage.
4. Collaborating with law enforcement when necessary.
5. Crafting detailed incident reports.
6. Enforcing security protocols, de-escalating conflicts, and making lawful arrests when appropriate to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers.

Qualifications

• Valid Security Guard License and First Aid/CPR certification.
• At least 1 year of security experience in high-profile, customer-focused environments such as retail, government, or healthcare/respite shelters.
• Use of Force training and arrest experience are assets.
• Ability to work across different sites in Niagara Falls and/or St. Catherine's.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience preparing professional security reports.
• Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act (TPA), Canada Criminal Code, and 494(c).
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to conduct arrests in sanctioned situations.
• Military, police, or law enforcement background is an asset.
• Strong observational skills and situational awareness.
• Punctuality and ability to stand or patrol for up to 12 hours.

Pay Rate

$23.00 per hour, with progression based on performance.

Training

Completion of Use of Force, Lawful Subject Restraint, and Crisis Management training is required, along with annual re-certification. Training is provided upon hire through Securiguard University Orientation courses for skill development.
